Acceptance Letters and Shower Registry!

Well, today has just been a banner day! Not ONLY did I find out that our acceptance letters have been sent back to China, but I also got to go and register for my shower tonight! Grandmumsy and Auntie J went with me, and they were much needed.....especially when I got to the bottle and diaper aisles. It was so much fun!!! I hope to have some pictures of that blessed event in a couple of days, thanks to Grandmumsy. I also want to get around to posting the picture that my agency took of me signing R's acceptance letter. It made me cry all over again just seeing it. Check back!

Telling the co-workers

So, I got to work today and was so excited because now I could OFFICIALLY tell my coworkers. I wanted to wait until I had the little peanuts picture before I told them for lots of reasons, but mainly...it was nice to be able to not have to think about it for 8 hours a day and know that they weren't going to ask me daily if I knew anything.

Anyway, I got to work and sent my manager a message telling her that we could go out for lunch ANYTIME!!!!! This was kinda code for her to know that it was time to tell my department. She immediately called me into her office and wanted all the details, but she was crying so hard and I was laughing so hard at her, we weren't getting much discussed. Once she settled down, we decided that we would go ahead and go to lunch today, eventhough it was short notice and everyone was VERY busy. She was afraid she couldn't keep my secret any longer! About 10am she sent out a message to our department telling them that we were going to lunch at 11:30 at Baratta's. Well, they all started throwing little hissy fits. It was hysterical. Since I had acting classes, I just pretended to be mad right along with them. I made sure to hitch a ride with two of my coworkers that I always ride with. As we were driving to the restaurant they were both furious that we had to go to lunch, TODAY OF ALL DAYS!!! It was all I could do to keep a straight face. So, we all get to lunch, eat, talk, have dessert....and my manager passed out little Chinese take out boxes to everyone. They all looked at them very suspiciously and she finally told them to open the boxes. (I did, too, so they wouldn't suspect anything) Inside each box was a fortune cookie and the message inside was "IT'S A GIRL!!!" NONE of them knew what to think as we went around the table reading the same message over and over. As everybody just sat and stared at each other, I said "I've got some news!!" and all I heard were gasps. And they are all just staring at me in shock. Then I told them "I'm adopting a baby from China!!" And they all just started crying and laughing and crying some more. It was so great. NONE of them expected it and NONE of them could believe that I had kept it a secret for an entire year.

That was too much fun!

A Looong weekend

It sounds like lots of people are expecting that we should receive referrals sometime next week. Since I have just been a bundle of nervous energy this weekend, I bought a bunch of
new (well, new to me!) baby clothes!! Mom and I went to some garage sales yesterday (she found an adorable wooden high chair) and Jamie and I hit a few more today. She also found a cute high chair and she bought a baby swing. Too cute. I guess there is no therapy quite like shopping therapy.

Let's hope next week brings good news!

Matching Room

I have heard from reliable sources that our group is in the matching room. That could mean that referrals are not as far away as I thought yesterday. Some are even speculating that we might see them by next Friday or Monday the 20th. Keep your fingers crossed!

Not until JULY?!?!?!

I just read an email from another soon-to-be mom that her agency doesn't think the next batch of referrals will come until JULY! That is just crazy! I can't wait until July. If we don't get a referral until July, then that would mean we probably wouldn't be going to get LingLing until SEPTEMBER. That's just plain unacceptable.

Now, I'm cranky. :(

Me, Grandma and Aunty Jamie at the fair Posted by Hello

First Entry!

This is my first entry for my journey to China to bring home my daughter. Currently, I am impatiently awaiting my referral. This is the file of information on the baby that China has chosen to be my daughter. This file will have her medical information, her date of birth, Chinese name and most importantly, her picture! I should be receiving this within the next two weeks!!!! We are all so excited and can't wait to bring this little girl into our family so that we can spoil her in the way she deserves!
Hopefully, I will be able to post the big news soon!
